WE ARE YAQUI ANIMAL RESCUE

We are a non-profit animal rescue located on our 80-acre ranch in Sullivan City, Texas, near the border of Mexico. We have over 250 animals in our care including cats, dogs, horses, cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and turtles.

We are a community-driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals through proactive care, accessible services, and compassionate advocacy.

Our organization is committed to prevention as much as rescue, providing free and low-cost resources like spay, neuter, vaccination, and microchip clinics to reduce barriers and prevent suffering before it begins.

We are a hands-on advocate, rescuing and protecting vulnerable animals while promoting accountability and kindness within the community.

We are focused on lasting impact, empowering people, expanding access to care, and creating a future where fewer animals are at risk.

Core Values: Ethics, compassion, transparency, advocacy, accessible, collaboration, proactive, integrity, stewardship.

OUR SPAY & NEUTER CLINICS

There are an estimated 70 million abandoned animals in the United States, with millions more along the Texas-Mexico border. South Texas has one of the highest stray populations in the nation, and the Rio Grande Valley is also one of the poorest regions, making access to affordable veterinary care critical.

To address this, we launched a low-cost Spay & Neuter Clinic in partnership with animal science students at Donna North High School. Through these clinics, pets can receive spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, and microchipping for under $50, removing financial barriers for local families.

The clinic also provides a powerful hands-on learning experience for students at Donna North High School. Through their involvement, animal science students gain real-world exposure to veterinary care, including observing surgeries, assisting with basic tasks, and learning proper animal handling techniques.

With the support of veterinarians, technicians, and volunteers, we serve a high volume of animals in a safe and compassionate environment—helping reduce overpopulation and improve community animal health.

Donations of any size make this work possible and directly support lifesaving care for pets in our community.
