Vanessa L. Sanchez is a Registered Nurse at Rio Grande Regional Hospital, where she has more than a decade of experience in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has been involved with Yaqui Animal Rescue for five years, serving as a Board Member for the past two. Vanessa has always had a soft spot for animals, especially the underdogs. Before becoming a nurse, she was on the path to veterinary medicine, and she hopes to one day work in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

Dr. Tawny Hanna is a veterinarian, Medical Director and Associate Veterinarian at The Veterinary Medical Center of Harlingen, and COO of Rising Valley Livestock. She became involved with Yaqui Animal Rescue through her work at an ER clinic, helping with emergency situations and rescues, and later became a medical foster. Today, she assists with medical procedures and animal care decisions and participates in spay/neuter clinics, vaccine clinics, and outreach events. Outside of her work, Tawny and her fiancé raise Mini Hereford cattle and Boer goats and currently have 8 cows, 18 goats, 1 horse, and 5 dogs.
